GOSPEL CHANNEL SCHEDULE
"Gotta Serve Somebody"
Gospel music has been a passion of mine since early childhood. Being raised a PK didn't hurt either. At a very early age I was often "drafted" to play the piano for worship serice when the regular musician was not available. We lived near a college town and almost weekly, a group of students would come to church knowing that my mom always cooked enough food for at least a dozen visitors.A home cooked meal was always a "treat" whenfar away from home, as I learned when I went to college. I would sit around the piano at home as the students arranged, played, and sang their renditions ofold gospel standards. Many of them offered original compositions for the others to critique. That was the beginning, at least my introduction to, what has become a whole new industry, contemporary gospel sound. We also "harmonized" without music, which evolved to a sound where artist's voices take the term "musical accompaniment" to a whole new art form. A good example is the group "Take 6" who has won several grammy awards for their innovative style of Contemporary and Traditional Gospel music. Contemporary Gospel has evolved into a whole new category of music. More corecttly referred to as contemporary christian music, 21st century gospel has been expanded to include Rap, Jazz, Blues,Country &etc, you get the idea. The term "gospel" has also been expanded to include "Praise and Worship". Here on the gospel channel, you will hear music fromeach of these genres of gospel music. We are delighted to bring you such a wide variety and hope that you find something that gives you the inspiration, the "soul massage" if you please, that brightens up your days and makes your nights peaceful.
